According to a source cited by Bloomberg, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, will be present at US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week. Apple, meanwhile, has refrained from commenting on Cook’s presence.
Should Cook choose to go, he will be joining other well-known Silicon Valley personalities, such as Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta Platforms, and Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon. Musk has now been a major financial backer and supporter of Trump.
These IT CEOs’ participation indicates that, despite earlier conflicts during Trump’s first term, the sector is making an attempt to improve relations with its government. Many, including Cook, have been to Florida to visit Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club, where it is said that he and Musk have had secret talks on the administration’s plans. Read more »
